Manchester United scouts are reportedly keeping their eyes peeled for a new goalkeeper as fears that David de Gea will leave intensify. De Gea was offered a new long-term contract worth £350,000-a-week earlier in the summer but has not put pen to paper. The Spaniard’s current deal expires in June and Old Trafford chiefs have been confident that De Gea would commit his future to the club. Despite a poor 2018/19 campaign and average start to the current season, United still want to keep De Gea. But The Sun report United scouts are now scouring Europe to identify potential heirs to the No 1 shirt with a contingency plan in place should he refuse the club’s latest overtures. If De Gea continues to avoid the dotted line he could walk out the door for free next summer. As a result, United would rather sell the shot-stopper in January, when they ostensibly believe a £30million price tag could be met. Paris Saint-Germain have sniffed around De Gea but it is unknown whether they would pay that much for a player who has six months left on their contract.
