Fans of the Portuguese national football team went berserk as the footballers arrived back at the Renaissance Monarch hotel in Moscow, Wednesday.

The reigning Euro 2016 champions defeated Russia 1-0 with Ronaldo scoring in the 8th minute of the game. Despite the loss for Russia, Muscovites welcomed Ronaldo and his teammates as heroes loudly cheering outside the hotel. Policemen were deployed to secure the safety of the fans and football players.

Team Portugal will be training in Moscow tomorrow before heading to St. Petersburg for the match against New Zealand on Sunday, June 24.

The FIFA 2017 Confederations Cup matches will take place in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kazan and Sochi. The tournament began June 17 and will run till July 2 with Russia, Germany, Chile, Australia, Mexico, Portugal, New Zealand and Cameroon competing for the title.
