ristiano Ronaldo has suggested younger players do not respond positively to constructive criticism.

Manchester United have had a despondent season so far and are seventh in the Premier League table after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was sacked as manager in November.

Ronaldo re-signed for the club on deadline day in August and is United's top scorer with 14 goals but there is a risk the five-times Champions League winner could miss out on Champions League football next season.


Ronaldo is one of four 30-somethings among the outfield players at the club and the 36-year-old suggested criticism is anathema to the younger demographic in the dressing room.

"The mature players, the older players can always help the young players," Ronaldo told Premier League Productions. "But, I can give you an example, if I give you advice, even if you are younger than me and if you don't implant that in a daily life it will be difficult.
