Erling Haaland says FC Copenhagen rejected him when he was a trialist at the club in 2016.

The Manchester City striker, who is the joint-leading scorer in the Champions League with five goals this campaign, says he had a one-week trial at the Danish Superliga club but they decided not to give him a contract.

The 23-year-old has scored 235 goals in 284 appearances so far in his career.

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola says his side have to be wary of the threat Copenhagen pose when they play each other in the Champions League last-16 second leg on Wednesday. City currently hold a 3-1 lead after the first leg.
