Gary Pallister is one of the greatest centre backs in the history of Manchester United, winning ten major trophies in his time at the club including four Premier League titles. Alongside Steve Bruce he was the foundation that the first great Sir Alex Ferguson Manchester United side was built upon, bringing an end to a 26 year wait for a league title in 1992/93. A record fee for a defender at the time Pallister joined Manchester United in 1989 for £2.3 million from his first club Middlesbrough. Pallister went on to make 317 appearances for Manchester United before returning to Middlesbrough to play for manager Bryan Robson in 1998.
