Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola said that despite being held to a 1-1 draw by Everton in the Premier League on Saturday, he was "so satisfied" with the way his players had performed.
"We played to win the game, we played better than the opponent," said Guardiola, adding that City had been playing at a "top, top level" since the resumption of the league after the World Cup.
City striker Erling Haaland added to his impressive goal tally with a goal in the first half but was later considered lucky to avoid a red card following a two-footed tackle on Everton's Vitali Mykolenko.
However Guardiola insisted that the yellow card Haaland received was sufficient punishment.
City lie second in the table after 16 games, seven points adrift of leaders Arsenal.
