Pep Guardiola gave an update on Kevin De Bruyne's fitness as he was back to the Manchester City bench after four months as they beat Sheffield United 2-0.

De Bruyne has undergone surgery for a torn hamstring after suffering an injury in the first game of the season. While Premier League's top scorer Erling Haaland has been sidelined with a foot injury for the past three weeks.

Defender John Stones limped off against Everton in midweek.

Guardiola’s side begin the FA Cup defence by welcoming Huddersfield on Sunday 7 January.
