How Dan James Will Score Goals for Manchester United | Tactics Explained. Daniel James joined Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Man United, from Swansea City over the summer transfer window, on the 12th of June for a fee reported at £15 Million. The Welshmen has had a sensational start to his Man Utd career, already the clubs top scorer in the side - with three goals for The Red Devils.
So how does Daniel James continue his goal scoring form? First let’s have a look at how he’s finished coming of the left hand side - The best example of this style is Dutch legend Arjen Robben - the former Bayern Munich man operated on the right wing, holding the width then cutting in and unleashing a shot in trademark fashion. Defenders knew what was coming with Robben, but his excellent close control and little touches to fake shots before opening up and an angle to unleash a shot was just too difficult to deal with - Robben scored 144 goals in 304 games for Bayern Munich, many coming from that trademark style.
Dan James could be a threat closer to goal too, whilst his finishes for Ryan Giggs’ Wales vs. Belrus and the one vs. Southampton for Man United - he’s still showing promising signs closer to goal. The young Welsh international scored from his first shot in the Premier League, after coming on for his Man Utd debut vs. Chelsea - getting on the end of a threaded through ball from Paul Pogba, after storming into the box and finding himself in a good position to stick the ball past Spain international Kepa Arrizabalaga. James has managed the most shots (two) per game in the box for Man United this season, close to what he had averaged in the Championship (2.3) for Swansea last season and the fact he’s carried his shot numbers into the top flight of English football - is a great sign for things to come for the young Welsh start.
If Daniel James, Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial, Mason Greenwood and Paul Pogba could put up a decent goal return for Ole Gunnar Soslkjaer’s side. We could see a very exciting season set up further up the pitch for Man Utd. We could see Pogba pushed further up the pitch, which could see more chances created for the likes of Dan James in the side.
