Svenja Huth is hoping that Germany's progress to the Euro 2022 semi-finals can bring a lasting boost to women's football back home.
Thursday's 2-0 win over local rivals Austria in London sealed a European Championships semi-final place for the first time since 2013 for the "Nationalelf'.
9.5 million viewers back in Germany watched the win on television and the VFL Wolfsburg player is hoping that the Euros hype will endure to bring more spectators throughout next season's Frauen Bundesliga.
In next Wednesday's semi-final Germany will face either France or defending champions the Netherlands, who face each other in Saturday's quarter-final in Rotherham.
The 31-year-old Huth was part of Germany's title-winning Euro 2013 squad, but since winning Olympic gold in 2016 the eight-time Euros winners have yet to reach another major global final.
