As part of Women’s International Day 2023, we’re celebrating the launch of the County Community Trust’s Women’s Walking Football sessions at Pro Football Arena, in Cheadle.
Walking football has been growing in popularity in recent years, offering a fun and accessible way for people of all ages and abilities to get active and enjoy the health benefits of sport. However, despite its many benefits, walking football has traditionally been seen as a male-dominated sport, with relatively few opportunities for women to participate. County Community Trust CEO Alison Warwood commended the sessions and welcomed the opportunity celebrate the success of these sessions; “It’s brilliant for international women’s day to be able to showcase women in football in all different areas of the sport”.
