Fans of Manchester United are protesting against the Glazer family's ownership of the club outside Old Trafford stadium in Manchester on Thursday, May 13, just hours before the team’s rescheduled Premier League fixture against Liverpool.
The match, which was originally scheduled for May 2, was postponed after a similar protest held by fans of the Mancunian side against the club’s US owners and the failed European Super League project turned into a pitch invasion in the hours before the game’s kick-off. It became the first Premier League match to be postponed because of fan behaviour.
On Monday, and in order to prevent future break-ins at similar protests, the club tightened security around the stadium by erecting three rings of steel in front of the south-west corner where supporters broke in.
