That’s according to reports in Spain. Manchester United’s summer spending could rocket past £150million if they are successful in signing the Ajax winger. On Friday, it was reported that the club had agreed terms with Leicester City to sign defender Harry Maguire for £80m, the second time they have spent £50m or more on a player in this window alone. If they are able to finalise the deal for Maguire, they will have smashed the world transfer record for a defender - previously held by Liverpool after their £75m move for Virgil van Dijk. But according to Yahoo Sports, they are not done there. The report claims that United have offered £45m for Neres, who scored 12 goals for Ajax last season in 50 games. Neres was impressive as Ajax stormed their way to a domestic treble as well as the quarter-finals of the Champions League. Ajax have already seen Matthijs de Ligt and Frenkie de Jong leave this summer, while it is believed that Donny van de Beek will leave for Real Madrid.
