Marcus all over em like a Rash

Marcus Rashford ensured Jose Mourinho's return to Old Trafford was a fruitless one with a two goal salvo to sink his new charges Tottenham Hotspur.
In doing so Manchester United gave their under-fire boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer just the boost he needed ahead of this weekend's Derby and more or less ensured he will be at the helm for the rest of the season.
Even a heavy defeat by City will not tempt Ed Woodward to wield the axe as he will give his manager adequate time to build on what he has done already and hopefully supply him with the funds to bolster his squad on the January transfer window.
For once, the Reds were able to draw a second breath and re-take the lead and this time see the game out with little discomfort.
Rashford is now developing into a top class striker and was electrifying all night.
His opener found Paulo Gazzaniga slow to react as the England striker's drive clipped the post before deceiving the Spurs keeper.
With United totally dominant, Rashford could have added to his tally, forcing an excellent save and crashing a free kick wide as well as thumping a superb effort against the bar.
Mason Greenwood - disappointing on the night - had one goal- bound shot turned aside but it would have been a valuable learning curve against a top class rearguard.
Frustratingly, Spurs who had done nothing as an attacking force, levelled when Dele Alli pounced on a loose ball to outfox Fred before slamming past David de Gea.
But within minutes of the restart, the Reds had nudged ahead when another mazy run into the box was ended by a trip from Moussa Sissoko and the penalty was dispatched low and hard to make it 2-1.
Could the hosts hold on or would another winning position be surrendered?
This time there was little to worry about as Harry Kane and co. posed little threat as the hosts held on to leap above their opponents into sixth place.
Scott McTominay returned from injury and immediately imposed himself in midfield alongside Fred. Jesse Lingard was back to his best for the first sixty minutes.
So is this yet another false dawn or will the team rise to the occasion in the white-hot atmosphere of the Etihad on Saturday night? UFC v Tottenham Premier League
