Liverpool stunned Manchester United with a 4–1 victory at Old Trafford in the 2008–09 Premier League. Cristiano Ronaldo gave United an early lead from the penalty spot, but Liverpool responded through Fernando Torres, Steven Gerrard (penalty), Fábio Aurélio, and Andrea Dossena. The result ended United's long unbeaten home run against Liverpool and remains one of Liverpool's most famous Premier League victories.
