Marizanne Kapp slams Cricket Australia’s decision on Anaya Bangar | Cricket News || Sports Fact

South African cricket legend Marizanne Kapp has publicly criticized Cricket Australia’s (CA) decision to clear transgender athlete Anaya Bangar for competitive women's cricket. Anaya Bangar, daughter of former Indian cricketer and coach Sanjay Bangar, underwent gender-affirming surgery and was approved by CA under its inclusion policy to play community cricket, with a pathway toward elite cricket—including the Women's Big Bash League (WBBL)—starting in March 2027 subject to testosterone guidelines. Reacting strongly to the announcement, Kapp called the decision "absolutely ridiculous" and stated that transgender athletes "should not be allowed" in women's sports. Watch this video for a breakdown of Marizanne Kapp's statements, Anaya Bangar's response regarding fairness and eligibility, Cricket Australia's official policy, and how ICC rules differ on trans participation in women's cricket!
