Ngangom Bala Devi is one of the biggest names in Indian women’s football. From Manipur to representing India internationally, she became the first Indian woman to sign for a professional football club in Europe when she joined Rangers in Scotland. She has also been named AIFF Women’s Player of the Year multiple times.

Stories like hers deserve far more attention—not just because of the records, but because of the doors they open for the women coming next.
