Post-match press conference with Everton manager David Moyes after their 1-0 defeat to Manchester United at Hill Dickinson Stadium in the Premier League.
Benjamin Šeško came off the bench to score the winner in the 71st minute, finishing a counter attack after Matheus Cunha’s long pass released Bryan Mbeumo, who went past Michael Keane and squared for the finish.
Moyes says it was a really tight game, praises Everton’s second half performance and the atmosphere, and feels United were “a bit fortunate” to win. He points to the difference in expensive quality and singles out United goalkeeper Senne Lammens after he dealt with set piece pressure, including a key save from Michael Keane. Everton had 10 corners to United’s 1.
Moyes also speaks about adapting to Hill Dickinson Stadium compared to Goodison Park, confirms Charly Alcaraz picked up a late training injury and will likely be out for a few weeks, and says Mark Travers missed out after damaging a finger. He also notes Jake O’Brien was suspended.
