Portugal's best run at a European Championship will be remembered for one of the biggest shocks in the tournament's history. They reached the final on home soil in 2004 only to be beaten by firm underdogs Greece.

Despite that Portugal have an impressive pedigree at major tournaments, twice reaching the semi-finals of the Euros and finishing fourth at the 2006 World Cup.

And after a stuttering qualifying campaign Including a 4-4 draw against Cyprus... Portugal are here again following victory over Bosnia-Herzegovina in the playoffs. But they have drawn the hardest of the four groups.
