And the final goal we go to one of the GOATs Cristiano Ronaldo and his late winner vs Serbia in a World Cup Qualifier It was the 93rd minute of a crucial qualifying match for Portugal and Cristiano Ronaldo slid the ball past the Serbian goalkeeper A defender chased it down and cleared the ball but only after it had crossed the goal line completely With no VAR or no goal line technology active in the group stage the referee did not award this goal And this match ended 2 to two and a furious Ronaldo threw his captain's armband on the ground With a VAR overturn a straightforward check would have confirmed that the ball did cross the line and Portugal would have been awarded a 32 win in the final minutes Those extra 2 points would have allowed Portugal to top their qualification group automatically.
