West Ham United have fell short against Manchester United this evening, losing 3-1 against Ole Gunnar Solsjkaer's men.

It was a positive start from the Hammers, pressing Manchester United and winning the ball in their third, winning lose balls and restricting them to playing the long ball into the front three.

Manchester United's decision to play McTominay and Pogba in a deeper role prevented West Ham from finding space on the counter and the team were struggling to create clear cut chances.

Towards the end of the first half, Bowen's clever run down the right-hand side result in a corner and from Aaron Cresswell's delivery, Declan Rice found Tomas Soucek who converted. Manchester United began to chase the game and West Ham began to create chances from transition with both Sebastien Haller and Pablo Fornals going close but failing to convert.

The second half started as the first half ended with West Ham continuing to press Manchester United and finding space in the wide areas as Manchester United brought on Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford.

The tide turned with a Dean Henderson long ball into Bruno Fernandes, who caught the West Ham midfield out of position and found Paul Pogba who dispatched from the edge of the box.

West Ham began to chase the second goal whilst Manchester United sat deep and used the extra midfielder in Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford as an outlet in the counter. West Ham were caught again in the press and the movement of Greenwood in behind the midfield lead to the 2-1 scoreline.

Manchester United finished the game by finding space in the midfield once again with a pass finding Marcus Rashford in behind, who finished calmly past Lukasz Fabianski.

It was disappointing end to a game where West Ham had executed a good press on Manchester United and won the ball in the Manchester United third but this was ultimately what cost West Ham in the end.
