Why Jadon Sancho Fits Into Solskjaer's Manchester United. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Man Utd have been linked to young England international Jadon Sancho over the last two transfer windows. Could Sancho be the answer for Man United’s right wing problems?

Jadon Sancho left Manchester City in the summer of 2017 after being omitted from Pep Guardiola’s pre-season squad due to a contract dispute - joining Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund on deadline day. Since then, he has become one of the most dangerous attackers on the planet as seen by the stats. Sancho (14) finished last season as the top assister in the Bundesliga with one assist more than Lionel Messi (13) and just one fewer than Eden Hazard (15), the top creator in Europe’s top five leagues last season.

Man United’s addition of Daniel James, who arrived over the summer transfer window for £15 Million from Championship side Swansea - has given Solskjaer's united a different attacking option. The young Welsh international has already scored three goals in only three starts for the club - but with Alexis Sanchez & Romelu Lukaku heading to the Serie A and joining Inter Milan’s Conte, the Red Devils look short in terms of attacking options. If Jadon Sancho was to come to Old Trafford it would give a massive boost for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer regarding his tactical flexibility. Mason Greenwood could then be used as a central option with Sancho taking the right wing role. Sancho would walk into a side with international teammates too, having played with Angel gomes at u17 level for England and currently involved in Gareth Southgates setup with Marcus Rashford, Luke Shaw and Jesse Lingard - this will definitely help to integrate the 19 year old, even if he’s to join in January transfer window.

In modern football, the top wingers have become the main goal threat of their sides with the likes of Arjen Robben, Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and more recently - Mohammed Salah and Raheem Sterling all operating from the wide areas. They play inverted, left footers on the right and right footers on the left so they can cut in and shoot but Jadon Sancho is different. Sancho is right footed and whilst he’s played on the left for Dortmund, he’s played his best football on the right.
