It's exactly 50 days since Real Madrid closed out the last campaign by holding their twelfth European Cup aloft in the Cardiff sky. The kings of Europe are now beginning a new campaign loaded with challenges, which will see them competing for six trophies. Before all that though, they have a tough pre-season which, as it has in recent years, will see them come up against many of Europe's biggest sides.
The first clash comes tonight (11:00pm CEST; 2:00pm local time) at the Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara. Real Madrid face Manchester United, the Europa League champions, in a precursor to the European Super Cup tie which will see them go head to head once more in Macedonia on the 8th of August. This will be the first outing for the Whites in the modern Californian stadium, which has a capacity of 75,000, and is home to the San Francisco 49ers American football team.
