Donny van de Beek, Edinson Cavani, Alex Telles, Facundo Pellistri and Amad Traore Diallo were signed by Manchester United this summer but another failed attempt at luring Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund has stolen all of the headlines.

The Reds failed to achieve any of their priority signings and some key areas remain unfilled by Man Utd, deadwood remains unsold, another manager is let down - this is my reaction to how the summer unfolded and what that could mean for Solskjaer and Man Utd.
