Members of the Iranian women's national football team have returned home after withdrawing their requests for asylum in Australia.
They have been welcomed home as heroes with flowers and trophies.
This is despite being labelled as “wartime traitors” by Iranian state television after not singing the national anthem in an Asian Cup match earlier this month.
That statement prompted the Australian government to grant asylum to anyone who requested it; now they say they are happy to be home.
