Noah Okafor scored twice in the first half before Casemiro pulled one back after the break, but United’s task became even harder when Lisandro Martínez was sent off.

Carrick says Leeds’ opening goal should not have stood, labels Martínez’s red card a shocking decision, and says he is concerned if that type of incident is now deemed a sending off.

He also praises United’s second-half reaction, says the result does not change his view of the team, and insists the confidence and belief in the squad remain strong heading into a big finish to the season.
