Welcome back guys! Today we’re going to be taking a look at how Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could set Man Utd up next season.

First diving into Manchester United’s shape, I expect the 4-2-3-1 to remain but depending on the future of certain Frenchmen, this could resemble more of a single pivot - but more on that later on. First we’ll take a look at who starts in goal - I think Dean Henderson will continue as Solskjaer’s number one in the league. Henderson hasn’t really put a foot wrong since getting a run in the side from March. In the Premier League Henderson outperformed David de Gea in Expected Goals prevented, Save Percentage and passes completed per 90 but most importantly, he made more than three times as many defensive actions outside of the box than De Gea.

Raphael Varane has been heavily linked for a move to Old Trafford and could join a steady three alongside him. Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Luke Shaw and Harry Maguire will all retain their starting spots. The trio were arguably United’s most consistent players last season and the loss of the captain in the run-in really highlighted how important his leadership, defensive ability and ball playing skills are to Solskjaer.

Moving into midfield, Man United have been linked to another Frenchman in Eduardo Camavinga. The 18 year old wonder kid would be a fantastic addition to an exciting Manchester United side that have already signed Jadon Sancho and we could see Camavinga pair with Paul Pogba in midfield.

The three ahead of the midfield write themselves in the team, Jadon Sancho who instantly upgraded & solves Man Utd’s right wing issues - Bruno Fernandes who’s been world class and the key man since joining, with Marcus Rashford who’s best football has come off the left coming off another 30+ goal & assist season. Man Utd won’t be lacking at number nine either, Anthony Martial, Edinson Cavani and Mason Greenwood are solid options that give Solskjaer different things.
